Sheriff's carry out Lakeside Anti-Truancy Sweep

September 22, 2009
On Tuesday September 22nd San Diego County Sheriff's carried out an anti-truancy sweep in Santee, Lakeside and unincorporated areas of El Cajon, to crack down on minors who skip school.

The sweep went from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. to target minors loitering within the boundaries of the Grossmont Union School District (El Capitan High School in Lakeside), according to Sheriff's Deputy Edward Ward. "A truancy detail early in the semester will discourage daytime loitering throughout the school year," Ward said.

Lakeside Residents can report minors loitering during school hours by calling the sheriff's non-emergency number at (858) 565-5200.
